The drug used in the initial clinical study was and is metabolized by the liver. One of the metabolites is anti-viral while the rest of the metabolites are toxic to the immune system. Antibiotics require an adequate “ WBC “ to control an infection; likewise, anti-viral agents require the same “ WBC “ support system. Biomolecular Pharma’s anti-viral agent has a broad range range between the required dosage and toxisity. As is typical with a bacterial infection coming under control, response occurred in the MS pilot study.

Measurable improvement in the first four ( 4 ) weeks in the motor, sensory, and visual with continued improvement over the next four weeks. The drug was stopped at six ( 6 ) months. These patients have never had a return of their disease.

It should be noted the oligodendrocyte is the target cell of the virus. This cell constantly lays down myelin but when infected, myelin production ceases, accounting for the absence of myelin on the nerve. Cells infected with the virus become attached to other infected cells forming a clump at which time the cells die and form scar tissue, as shown by electron-microscope.

Besides the issue of geographic distribution of MS, it should be noted that in the 1960’s the early kidney transplants were done before research had adequately developed a histocompatibility program. When a transplant was done and a histocompatilility miss-match occurred within 48 hours, there was massive generalized edema including all the organ systems. This is not directed just at the new organ transplant. The lymphocytes change from the old small indented nucleus to the young active larger lymphocyte. These patients die rapidly with total organ failure. This is an example of self induced auto-immune. Another example is in the same time frame with the early cardiac surgeries. The cardiac pumps were primed by 16 units of blood. The “ WBC “ mass in 16 units of nuclear and cellular materials is equal to that of a kidney. A large percentage of the patients reacting to the foreign material had major rejection responses similar to the kidney rejection with death following. This was all corrected with the pump that required two ( 2 ) units.
